From the heart of the Amazon Basin to the Caribbean coast we pass through protected indigenous areas, flat top mountains and see the world's highest waterfall. A very varied trip to the far north of this great continent.4 departures planned From the concrete jungle of Manaus, into the real jungle: the Amazon rainforest. Through highly controlled indigenous areas, across the equator and through Roraima , the least populated state in Brazil. We see some of Venezuela's incredibly diverse southern lands including the beautiful Gran Sabana with its undulating scenery interspersed with jungle outcrops, and take a flight into Canaima National Park, home of the world's highest waterfall. Discover the caves that are home to 18,000 oil birds and spend time on the Caribbean coast.Itinerary Day 1 Manaus and the splendour of its rubber boom days. 2 / 4 Long drive through the incredible Amazon rainforest passing through controlled indigenous areas. Cross the equator and north into Venezuela. Explore some of the beautiful Gran Sabana. Optional activities available. 5 / 7 Flight over Angel Falls (weather permitting) and into the stunning Canaima National Park where we spend 2 days on a tour of the lakes, rivers and flat-topped mountains (tepuys). 8 / 12 Caripe, to visit the 10km long Guacharo caves, home to 18,000 oil birds that make an en-mass exodus at dusk each night. Two-day trip to the immense delta of the Orinoco River. 13 / 16 A short drive to Mochima National park and Playa Colorada with its beautiful red sandy beach. Caracas.
